OUR HEALING COMMUNITY

an intentional, radically inclusive, LGBTQ+ and  Black, Indigenous, People of Color centered, multicultural and multiracial campus for healing and wellness

we are a diverse collective of queer, trans, cis, anti-racist healers, makers, bodyworkers, change makers, counselors, artists, social workers, physicians, musicians, energy workers, clinical and counseling psychologists, activists, caregivers, justice seekers, peacemakers, movement guides, yogis, workers, dream weavers, trouble makers and scholars.

we believe in the inherent worth and dignity of each person and offer sliding scale services based on an economic justice model of financial privilege. to that end, we challenge white supremacy, capitalism, ableism and all systems of oppression to make our programs and services more affordable and accessible to poor and working class people and people of color.

we affirm that all individuals are the experts of their own experiences and choices and are committed to providing trans-informed care and support trans folx in their gender self determination using an informed consent model of care.

we believe that individual wellness contributes to social justice and social justice contributes to individual wellness and that radical inclusion must involve radical transformation.

we understand that through the pursuit of justice, equity, healing and reconciliation we may cultivate healthier societies and foster relationships with self and community liberated from violence and oppression.

in our efforts to ensure ongoing, successful collaboration with the LGBTQueer+, People of Color and people of all identities, we commit to regular, ongoing trainings, consultation and are active agents of change and advocacy in our communities.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Durham, NC. I work with adult individuals, couples, and families to help them achieve the most fulfilled and authentic versions of themselves.
Reaching out for help can be difficult, but seeking the support of a counselor can lead to measurable positive change, meaning, and balance in your life. My style is warm, non-judgmental, and affirming. I am honest and straightforward and strive to create meaningful connection with all my clients. I leave space for you to safely explore issues of concern as well as aspirations. education/training: UNC-CH; Montefiore Medical Center

I have been in private practice in Durham for 7 years and am honored to be at Radical Healing!  My training and experience in couple therapy includes working with couples in relationship distress as well as with those who are looking for relationship enhancement, providing sex therapy including the use of the sensate focus method, conducting premarital counseling, and using evidenced-based treatment for couples facing individual stressors, such as the mental or physical illness of one partner (e.g. obsessive compulsive disorder, anorexia nervosa, breast cancer). I have significant training in several styles of individual therapy including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as insight-oriented therapies and psychodynamic perspectives. My more recent training in somatic approaches and mindful self-compassion complement my certification in yoga and mindfulness instruction to create a holistic approach to mental health. I have also recently been trained in leading others in writing for health, through Duke Integrative Medicine, and enjoy incorporating creative journaling into therapeutic work. My work addresses a wide variety of issues, including anxiety and depression, life transitions, trauma, identity and self-esteem issues, relational issues, as well more specialized issues such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. My therapeutic style is warm and engaged, and I take a client-centered and anti-oppression approach to my work. I have significant experience working with folks of all sexual orientations and gender expressions, those practicing non-monogamy, people of color, folks from many different backgrounds, and folks in bodies of different sizes, shapes, and abilities. I believe a compassionate respectful orientation toward understanding, hearing, and believing each person’s unique reality as a human is the most important foundation for any healing to happen. In addition to psychotherapy for individuals and couples, I also hold workshops and classes on yoga, writing, and self-compassion practices. I also offer private yoga and mindfulness instruction, and private sessions guiding expressive writing techniques. Click here to learn more about Jasmine.

I am a black queer femme therapist who works primarily with LGBTQ+ or QTPOC individuals, couples, and families to help them build and better their lives and relationships. I have have always had a passion for helping others. In addition, I have been a facilitator and counselor for the majority of my life, starting in college when I began developing diverse and inclusive sex education programs in New Jersey and Maryland working with LGBTQ+ counseling organizations. Since becoming a therapist, I have realized that helping people on an individual level is only a part of my passion. I am focused on creating better systems whether it be with clients, couples, families or companies; my idea of a healthy self includes having a personal and professional balance. I enjoy meditation, and use body scanning and coaching heavily in practice. As one of very few queer, black, femme, therapists, I also offer virtual counseling so no matter where you are, you can access a gender and sexually competent therapist who is focused on your happiness and authentic self. Aside from therapy and speaking; I love cooking and being a dog mom. Feel free to follow me @adriennemichelletherapy. Click here to learn more about Adrienne.

More generally, I provide psychotherapy to those who are dissatisfied with themselves, their relationships or their career and who aspire to lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Psychotherapy leads to better self-knowledge, to making healthier life choices and to greater self acceptance and confidence, while reducing uncomfortable symptoms that interfere in daily living and inhibit a values driven life. I believe successful treatments are based on a warm, supportive and non-judgmental environment, where you can comfortably explore all presenting issues with me. I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of each client and design my treatments to allow each individual to live a more full and exceptional life. Click here to learn more about David.

Healing from painful experiences is challenging; it takes time and it requires a warm, compassionate, and encouraging approach. It would be my privilege to walk alongside you on your path to healing. I am a Latina, bilingual (Spanish) licensed clinical social worker with a focus on working with adults and teenagers (15 years old+)  who have been through trauma, both on an individual and a systemic level. I enjoy working with the LGBTQ + community, Spanish-speaking clients, and folx that are experiencing challenges with acculturation, depression, women’s issues, anxiety, and life transitions. In my years as a therapist I have been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use an eclectic approach in therapy as some modalities work better for some individuals than others. In therapy, I incorporate mindfulness techniques and movements to assist clients in developing resilience and awareness of the mind and body connection. I believe that with the proper support and guidance people can learn to heal themselves. I welcome you to contact me if you believe we would be a good match! I look forward to meeting you. Click here to learn more about Roxy.
