Jay Schnaak, MSW, LCSWA is a non-binary, transperson from the South. They have a warm, earnest style, and aim to create an atmosphere of compassion, non-judgment, and curiosity with each patient. Jay is passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ adults by honoring their self-determination. Jay works with clients to co-create a trusting, comfortable space to show up authentically and process experiences together. Jay’s therapeutic approach is relational and pragmatic, incorporating mindfulness-based, somatic and harm reductionist approaches while collaborating to chart out a unique path for each client to gain self-knowledge and achieve their wellness and quality of life goals. By engaging in therapy, clients are choosing to pursue a more authentic connection to themselves, to others, and to a more fulfilling life.
Outside of work, Jay enjoys trail running, gardening, exploring nature, reading non-fiction, dancing, and discovering new music.
