Samara BrownSamara is a licensed counselor whose goal is to provide holistic mental health care to clients from all walks of life. She is driven by her passion for social justice, equality, and advocacy. Samara earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Carolina A&T State University and her master’s degree in mental health counseling from Northwestern University. She has experience working with a variety of clients, including those who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, racial identity conflicts, pregnancy/early parenthood, and relationships (both monogamous and polyamorous).
Samara earned her certification as a Psychotherapeutic Yoga Clinician in February 2022, which helps provide additional understanding how trauma manifests in the body and more holistic forms of treatment. She typically approaches her therapy work through a multicultural, psychodynamic lens, but also uses DBT and CBT for additional structure in sessions. The approach to counseling work and course of treatment are always dependent on what’s best for the client. |
